Brett Ekblom

Founder and President of Native Construction

Born and raised in the Florida Keys, Brett began his career in construction working as a laborer for his Brother’s construction business. However, he had a dream of flying, so after earning his Associate’s Degree, at the Florida Keys Community College, he went on to become a commercial airline pilot and flight instructor.

After 2 years of piloting, he returned to the Florida Keys and founded Native Construction. Since 2003, Brett has focused on growing the company into one of the premier general contractors in the Upper and Middle Keys. He is a hands-on executive which ensures that the company's clients can always talk to the "Boss" and he prides himself and his team on delivering the quality finish Native Construction is renowned for in the time frame the clients want.

Having grown up in the community Brett has been able to build longstanding relationships with many of the Sub-Contractors, that go back many years. These relationships that he has built on trust and mutual respect, continue to grow with each completed project. As well as growing his business, Brett has raised his family with wife Linsey here in Islamorada. Their 3 children provided even more reasons for Brett and Linsey to become actively involved and invested in the community, and you will often find them supporting school events and charity fundraisers.
